Programs and Events

A practical framework for alliancing training, development of practices and evolution of the collaborative models

A core element of delivering our strategy is through our events. The AAA programming framework outlines the program and proposed events for the next 10 months. There are three types of event:

·         Forums: A quarterly two to three hour discussion session: typically one or two presenters followed by general discussion, networking opportunity and general AAA update,

·         Seminars for Alliancing Professionals: A series of one or two day seminars led by an industry expert delivering a number of interactive sessions on alliance "essentials".  May involve a range of guest speakers or panel members to bring broad perspectives to the subject matter.

·         Annual Conference: An annual flagship two day conference for AAA members and guests featuring broad coverage of the subject of alliances and advanced collaboration, designed around specific themes and providing topical discussions of relevance to practitioners.

·         Annual Alliancing Team of Excellence awards: AAA's award program aims at rewarding teams, individuals or organisation programs which are promoting a higher level of practice excellence in Alliancing. The award submissions period is typically April to July and the awards are attributed during AAA’s national convention in October each year.

·         Public Infrastructure Agencies Forum (P.I.A.F.). A bi-annual gathering of agencies, public or private sectors, who are responsible for building, updating, renewing and maintaining our national infrastructures, for the sharing lessons learnt and collectively canvassing ideas on the challenges and practice evolution needed to keep the alliancing and associated collaborative models aligned with the requirement of the time.

In addition to this formal regional structure of events, the association encourages members from local areas to meet regularly around discussion topics of their choice with, if required, the support and guidance of the association programming committee.
