P.I.A Forum
Networking our collective knowledge to drive value in public infrastructure
The Public Infrastructure Agencies Forum (PIAF) is a not-for-profit, independent, cross-sector initiative. It brings together leaders and senior managers from government agencies and related infrastructure departments responsible for the planning, procurement, delivery and maintenance of public infrastructure and services.
PIAF’s key objective is to create a venue for colleagues to share their experiences. The forums aim to canvas solutions to the challenges and trends faced by your business unit and offer the opportunity to network with colleagues from other sectors and states who share your role.
A new steering committee of expert practitioners will see PIAF continue to evolve its role and value beyond relationship contracting. The future of PIAF is as a forum for all matters relating to the business and practices of the Capital Work or Asset maintenance business unit.
The Public Infrastructure Agencies Forum (PIAF) is:
• Dedicated to Public Infrastructure agencies and departments from Australia and NZ
• Leaders and Senior Managers of Business Units: Major Project/Capital Work/Assets management business units from all infrastructure sectors
• 100% Sharing and discussions, no talking heads
• Focused on the implications of infrastructure trends on the role/resources/skills, planning, procurement, VFM delivery, quality and servicing on organisational, commercial, culture, practices and agency policy matters
• Professionally moderated by a neutral host familiar to the infrastructure industries context
• A not-for-profit event, cross funded by members and a modest contribution from guests
A steering committee of practitioners has been created to guide PIAF’s purpose and value delivery. With experience in the same roles as forum delegates, steering committee members are ideally placed to catalyse the development of the forum and make it relevant to your needs.
The initial PIAF steering committee is composed of:
• Mr. Bevan Brown – GM Commercial - NSW Transport Construction Agency
• Mr. Bruce Gidley – Chief Operations Officer - Vicroads
• Mr. Derek Skinner – General Manager Major Infrastructure projects - Qld dept of Transport & Main Roads
• Mr. John King – General Manager – Capital Delivery programs - Queensland Rail
• Mr. Paul Northey – General Manager Infrastructure - Barwon Water
• Mr. Ron Quill – Leading practitioner, former General Manager Assets Solutions Sydney Water
• Paul Foxlee, PIAF business advisor, Partner - KPMG
The steering committee’s wide range of experience and their endorsement and commitment to PIAF will ensure it’s continued value to you. We are fortunate to have Mr. Paul Foxlee’s support in the steering committee. His business experience with the role and challenges of government agencies’ Capital Work business will provide a catalyst for value delivery at the forum.
The logistical aspects of PIAF events will be provided and funded by the Alliancing Association of Australasia to keep event fees to a minimum.
